The mission of The Atticus Group is to partner with medical technology and molecular diagnostic companies to assist in the development of comprehensive strategic plans and tactical marketing solutions which drive revenue growth. Founded in Portsmouth, New Hampshire in 2009, our specialty is working with U.S. and European-based companies who have developed novel medical technologies or molecular diagnostic tests targeted towards the U.S. and select global markets. Our broad experience providing strategic insight and creative marketing solutions for innovative medical technology companies allows The Atticus Group to tailor our efforts to meet our customers needs.

Larry Yost, R.Ph.
Founder and Managing Partner
With over 30 years of combined experience for domestic and international medical device, pharmaceutical, and molecular diagnostic companies, Larry Yost offers our entrepreneurial and large company clients the expertise required for a wide range of their strategic market development and tactical marketing needs.
In addition to his role with The Atticus Group, Larry is also currently the General Manager for IntegraGen, Inc., a Cambridge, Massachusetts subsidiary of IntegraGen SA, a French based genomics and molecular diagnosis company with focuses in the fields of oncology and autism. Prior to founding The Atticus Group, Larry was the Vice-President of Sales and Marketing at Expanding Orthopedics, Inc., a start-up medical device company focused on the development of innovative spinal implant for patients with poor bone quality and novel solutions for fracture repair in orthopedic trauma patients.
Previously, Larry was Director of Marketing at Salient Surgical Technologies (formerly TissueLink Medical and now Medtronic Advanced Energy), an early stage company with a proprietary radiofrequency technology used to reduce blood loss during total joint replacement, spine surgery, and solid organ resection. While at Salient, his responsibilities included the commercialization of the Aquamantys® System in the U.S. and selected European countries as well as the development and implementation of strategic programs designed to communicate the clinical and economic value of the Company’s technology to its customers.
Before joining Salient, Larry was Director of Marketing at Vasca, Inc., a start-up medical device company with innovative implantable dialysis-access technology. While at Vasca, Larry was responsible for developing and implementing the company’s marketing and reimbursement strategies with the latter resulting in the successful receipt of a unique CPT code and incremental reimbursement coverage for the Company’s proprietary technology. Prior to his time at Vasca, Larry was a member of the global marketing team at Baxter Healthcare’s Renal Division where his focus was the development of clinical marketing programs supporting the company’s dialysis product lines in the U.S., Japan, Asia, and Europe. Larry began his career in pharmaceutical sales at The Upjohn Company followed by several differing roles within the Company’s Medical Sciences Liaison organization.
Larry is a graduate of the Purdue University School of Pharmacy and currently maintains his Pharmacist license in the State of Indiana.

Meg Saunders
Creative Director, Print and Digital Media
Meg Saunders is The Atticus Group’s Creative Director for Print and Digital Media. Meg is responsible for the creative design and layout of promotional and educational print materials as well as web-based content for our clients. She has considerable creative talent and expertise based on her eight years of experience in the design industry. Meg understands all angles of the design process and has an appreciation of client needs relative to assisting them to achieve their marketing goals.
Prior to joining the Atticus Group, Meg worked as a designer and art director for a variety of companies and organizations including Boston University, FingerPaint Marketing and the Ayco Group. Her projects ranged from company branding, business collateral, magazine layout, posters, mailers and website design and development.
Meg has a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from the Art Institute of Portland and a Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Boston University. In addition to her role with The Atticus Group, Meg will also continue to teach web design at the New Hampshire Institute of Art located in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Mart Pearson
Strategic Business Consultant
Mart Pearson, Founding Partner Valmolina Group Consulting, LLC. provides consultative support to The Atticus Group and its clients related to international business development activities and strategic translational initiatives focusing on the commercialization of technologies discovered and initially developed in an academic research environment. Mart has more than 25 years of experience with medical device startups and has an extensive experience with the introduction of new technologies. Top to bottom responsibilities have included the analysis of market opportunity; prioritization and targeting of strategic initiatives, identification and management of key opinion leaders; development of clinical evidence; support for pre-market studies and management of post-market clinical studies; creation of legal entities; management of product distribution logistics; and the identification of appropriate direct and distribution sales channels, including the selection and management of distributor networks.
Previously, Mart was Vice-President of Europe for Cohera Medical, an early stage medical technology company that developed a line of surgical adhesives and sealants based on a unique chemical design that is resorbable, non-toxic, easy-to-use, and forms a strong bond between tissue layers. Prior to this he was an International Vice-President at Salient Surgical Technologies (formerly TissueLink Medical and now Medtronic Advanced Energy), an early stage company with a proprietary radiofrequency technology used to reduce blood loss during total joint replacement, spine surgery, and solid organ resection. Before joining TissueLink Mart was responsible for setting up one of the first international subsidiaries of STERIS Corporation in Italy. The company’s focus was a low temperature liquid sterilization system for heat sensitive surgical instruments.
Mart’s consulting activities are based in both Portsmouth, New Hampshire and in Northern Italy. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Economics, and Languages from Pomona College.
